-2001 calendar for medical research charity reveals all-
The ladies of Essex have long been the brunt of many jokes about their supposed weak intelligence (amongst other things) - until now. The combined brains and beauty of Action Research's Dunmow Committee has produced a calendar for 2001 that will help fund ground breaking medical research.
The calendar features the 'Real Essex Girls' - twelve volunteer members of the Dunmow Committee in various poses on a variety of themes around the county. Motorbikes, cricket, shooting, a building site, the beach at Frinton and the backseat of a Ford Escort all feature in the calendar.
All money raised from sales of the calendar will go towards Action Research's Touching Lives campaign hat aims to raise £1.5 million for vital medical research to benefit children and families across the UK.
Penny Cherry of the Dunmow Committee who features in the months of March and June explains why the calendar was produced: "We wanted to show the UK who the real Essex girls are and raise money for our favourite charity Action Research. We are what Essex is really about and it's about time the rest of the country realised what it is missing."
