In 2004, Tim Mason, the then Marketing Director of Tesco, accompanied a group of senior executives and business contacts on Action Medical Research's London to Paris bike ride and the ‘barking badgers’ were born!
This first trip gave Tim and his fellow cyclists the cycling bug and was followed by the first annual bespoke ride in 2005 - a gruelling cycling challenge across the Italian Dolomites raising £60,000 for the charity.
The Barking Badgers have since taken on a new challenge each year, cycling in Italy, France, Spain, Sardinia and Majorca. They have broken the astonishing fundraising milestone of £1 million.
In addition to spearheading the Barking Badgers, Tesco have also contributed to other Action Medical Research events.
We would like to thank Tesco for their significant and continued support.
