Picnic in the Park is held at Thirsk Hall in 10 acres of parkland overlooking Thirsk Race Course which is a perfect setting for Picnic in the Park. The house was built by the Bell family in 1770, who still live there. It is Mr John Bell whom we have to thank for letting us stage this event in these fantastic grounds and parkland.
2017 will be our 12th Picnic in the Park - the fabulous tribute acts will be:
The magic of 'Michael Jackson' and the amazing voice of Lareena Mitchell as 'Adele'
Incredible performances throughout the years have included tributes to Elvis, Phil Collins, The Eagles, Abba and the Beatles. In 2011 the concert was a Soul Spectacular, featuring original artists Jimmy James and The Vagabonds and Gwen Dickey of Rose Royce. 2012 saw a return to the traditional format and one of the UK’s top tribute bands, The Counterfeit Bee Gees. Flash: A Tribute to Queen then appeared in 2013 and 2014 saw the audience enjoying Paul Metcalfe's Rod Stewart Tribute Show. In 2015 a record attendance enjoyed JK as Robbie Williams and Jake and Elwood Blues Brothers tribute, finishing with the best yet spectacular firework finale. The Ultimate Bowie and The Ultimate Elton topped the billing last year, making every year a winner!
