Three Peaks Bike and Hike
We are really sorry that our Three Peaks Bike and Hike event last Saturday had to be cancelled, due to the severe weather conditions in Yorkshire. Thank you to all the teams for your understanding and we will be in touch this week.
The 3 Peaks Bike & Hike is set in the spectacular surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, famous for the "Yorkshire Three Peaks" of Pen y Gent, 694m, Whernside, 736m and Ingleborough, 724m. All three hills are part of the challenge, with teams cycling from one to the next in a race against the clock. It's different and it's great fun. 3 Peaks Bike & Hike, now in its third year, is a great fun adventure race suitable for anyone.
Three Peaks Bike & Hike starts and finishes in the Dales' village of Ingleton. The total event distance is approximately 80 kilometres (50 miles), broken down into stages.
To take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience, pay a registration fee of £195 per team of 4 and commit to raising funds to improve the health of sick children and babies.
More information can be found on the Action for Charity website.
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to all the challengers in the Three Peaks Bike and Hike on Saturday 16 April 2011. A total of 14 teams took part in the tough challenge to summit the Yorkshire Three Peaks of Pen-y-ghent (694m), Whernside (735m) and Ingleborough (724m) cycling both “on” and “off-road” in between. It was a challenge to test the best and a great day with a huge amount of fun, friendship and team spirit.
