Stars celebrate Lost World Trek
The three stars, who shot to fame as members of top Eighties bands Spandau Ballet, ABC and Go West respectively, led a group of 35 along a demanding route, taking in stunning Venezuelan countryside before reaching Mount Roraima in the heart of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Lost World.
The Lost World Ball took place at The Park Lane Hilton in London and marked a welcome return for the Charity to such high-profile fundraising which has proved extremely successful in the past. The evening was well supported by City corporates, some of whom had existing links to Action Medical Research, and others who were new to our worthy cause.
Highlights of the evening included an auction, with prizes like the chance to have Tony Hadley sing in your living room and a 6-night break in Vietnam attracting some fierce bidding, and, of course, performances of their best-known hits sung by the stars themselves.
David Graham of Action Medical Research said, “The success of this event is down to the support of volunteers, from many regions, who worked tirelessly to pull this function together.”
