‘Team GP’ rides for Action

We’re very excited about our forthcoming London to Paris bike ride. This year’s event is not only set to be the biggest yet, with more riders than ever before, but we are also being joined by some famous medical faces!

TV’s Dr Dawn Harper, presenter of Channel 4’s Embarrassing Illnesses series, has persuaded four of her media medic friends to join her on the ride this July. Team GP will include Dr Rosemary Leonard, from BBC Breakfast, Dr Pixie McKenna, co-presenter of Embarrassing Illnesses, Dr Sarah Jarvis from The One Show and Dr Rob Hicks, the Classic FM doctor.

Dawn is a strong supporter of our Touching Tiny Lives appeal, especially as two of her three children were born prematurely.

She said: "It’s thanks to previous medical research and the hard work of the special care baby unit that my little ones recovered well and have grown up into healthy children. Not everyone is so lucky. Team GP are hoping to do their bit by raising more than £5,000 for research into premature birth. You can do your bit by [sponsoring us!](http://www.action.org.uk/sponsor/teamgp09) However small, your donation really does count.
