Pint-sized paces for babies in need
The walks offer a chance for the thousands of families in the UK who have been affected by premature birth – and the many more who simply care enough to want to help – to take positive action.
The charity will be getting things started by organising a number of local events across the country but it is hoped that scores of additional walks will be put in place by supporters, families and other groups and organisations who see this as a great way to have fun while supporting a very worthwhile cause.
Later in the magazine you will see examples of some of the projects in which we are currently investing that focus on helping premature babies and preventing early labour. Research like this offers real hope for families experiencing the nightmare of premature birth but represent a fraction of the research projects we would like to support.
To keep chipping away at the problem of premature birth, we need our supporters to help bring in even more funds. Simple sponsored walks for the whole family and all age groups are an easy way for everyone to do their bit to raise those vital funds. Pint-sized paces for babies in need There are very few events out there for toddlers and grandparents to enjoy equally, so why not make your walk a real family affair in your community and invite local schools, clubs, friends and neighbours to join you on a fun day out?
Please help us by spreading the word. You can get full details by going online at www.walkfortinylives.org.uk The walks will be free to enter and we will provide walk organisers with support materials and a simple guide to running a successful day via the dedicated Walk for Tiny Lives website. So what are you waiting for? Put your best foot forward and make a real difference for babies in need.
