Grab a group of girls and take action for tiny lives

As part of Action Medical Research’s anniversary celebrations, we’ve decided to make 2012 an extra special year for the girls with some exciting women-only events.

These events offer an upbeat way to get fit and have fun with your friends, family and colleagues to raise money to help sick babies and children.

There will be a real sense of camaraderie and support along the way and, as always, our team of fundraisers is on hand to answer your questions and give you all the training and advice you need.

So, what are you waiting for? Have a look at our list of events and sign up today. We promise you won’t regret it!

Are you a mum who goes out running or would you like to be? If so, our Mums on the Run 5k event could be for you. Being a mum is a full-time job with little time for exercise. Sign up to this run at Waddesdon Manor and get fit, work towards a goal, meet other mums online for mutual support and raise funds to help sick babies and children.

Or, if you’d rather be on two wheels than two legs, why not cycle 100k on one of our DIVA 100 rides? More women than ever are getting hooked on road cycling as one of the best ways to get fit and Davina McCall has signed up to this year’s ride in Cowdray Park, Sussex, on 13 May. And if Sussex isn’t close enough to home, we’re also running DIVA 100 rides in Scotland and Warwickshire.

Our anniversary year sees the launch of our first women-only route on our flagship London to Paris ride. Grab a group of girlfriends or come solo and join the group on this four-day route to the heart of Paris. This is a must for any cycling enthusiast, regardless of riding ability, and takes you to Paris with time to spare to see the finale of the Tour de France and do a spot of shopping!

Jenny Lewis, who rode London to Paris last year, said: “I have just completed the London to Paris ride. It was amazing, exhausting fun and one of the best things I have ever done.”
