Action Partners update
Leading food manufacturer Bakkavör Group continues to support the charity. Not only did they mark Paddington Bear’s 50th anniversary with a fantastic party for over 200 children at their London offices, they also gave ten members of staff the opportunity to take part in our Machu Picchu trek in October, raising well over £35,000.
We are very grateful to BMI Healthcare for their support in Scotland. BMI’s Ross Hall Hospital is a regular sponsor of the Glasgow Ladies’ Lunch, and this year the Albyn Hospital lent sponsorship to our Aberdeen Ladies’ Lunch. The company also sponsored the Gala Dinner at the Charity’s first ever SCOTPlod event this summer (see pg 11 for details).
Constructive is a new Action Partner but staff there have already been busy! Denise Wells completed the London to Brighton bike ride on behalf of Action Medical Research — not even a nasty downhill collision could stop her reaching the finish. Well done Denise!
Not content with raising £50,000 for the charity this year via a product promotion, and over £700 through our recycling scheme thanks to their customers, husband and wife team Warren and Veronica Bailey of ZipVit fulfilled their long time goal of completing the London to Paris ride in July.
Five members of the design team at Sunseeker International Limited, leading manufacturers of luxury motoryachts, took part in the Three Peaks Challenge, raising a staggering £33,000 thanks to matched sponsorship from Sunseeker’s Charitable Trust. Six determined runners will also be taking part in next year’s London Marathon to raise even more our vital work.
