Touching Lives - October 2008

In the News

Aside from maggot-mania, charity supporter Andrea Guest appeared in Prima Baby magazine to promote our Touching Tiny Lives appeal. Now healthy five-year-olds, her twins Harvey and Ruby were born just 26 weeks into her pregnancy.

Tracy Ridley, who featured in the last issue of Touching Lives, appeared in the Daily Mirror in August in Dr Miriam Stoppard’s column, talking about her experiences of premature birth to highlight our STAND UP for Tiny Lives Campaign.

Meanwhile, Matthew Callow, who also appeared in the last Touching Lives, featured in the Sun’s health section. Matthew had both hips replaced in his early twenties and successfully completed our London to Paris bike ride. He also gave radio interviews to Chiltern FM and BBC Three Counties.

In addition to all this, a certain bear’s birthday celebrations on 25 June also generated some welcome publicity for his favourite charity — thank you Paddington! In fact, we must say a huge THANK YOU to all of this year’s Bring Your Bear participants, who have helped to generate fantastic coverage in local newspapers across the UK.
