Midnight 'plod' no mean feat

‘Plodding’ is the new craze in Action Medical Research events, taking our fundraising and endurance team challenges to an exciting new level. We are very lucky to be hosting two nightwalk team challenges in the UK — ScotPLOD in the Scottish Borders, organised in partnership with The Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team and sponsored by Action Partners BMI Healthcare Scotland, and PhotoPLOD in Sussex, generously supported by Focus On Imaging.

The plods are competitive with teams, five people for ScotPLOD and six for PhotoPLOD plus a support driver, departing at midnight and following a designated route, covering 31 and 40 miles respectively, until they reach the finish the following morning. Teams collect points according to their finishing time and by booking in at the checkpoints and completing challenges along the way. The terrain of both routes is rugged and hilly — make no mistake, this is a challenge!
