London to Paris is towering success

TV doctor Dawn Harper, BBC weatherman Tomasz Schafernacker and a team who appeared on Channel 4’s How to Look Good Naked took part in the biggest ever London to Paris event in July. Around 700 cyclists set off from the English capital and finished by riding down the Champs Elysees to the Eiffel Tower. They followed five different routes, covering between 300 and 330 miles, and the new route five saw speedy cyclists complete the challenge over three days instead of the usual four.

Speaking after the ride, Dawn said: “Cycling to Paris again this year was even bigger and better than before and knowing what to expect as we cycled down the Champs Elysees only made it more emotional. It really is goose pimple stuff – an experience of a lifetime. And to anyone thinking about doing the ride next year, stop thinking and sign up now. You won’t regret it!”

The event has raised over £1 million for the charity.
