Trek Machu Picchu

This event is unfortunately now full, but you can still trek to Machu Picchu and raise funds for us by taking part in an open challenge. There are several dates to choose from in 2013 and 2014, for more information please visit our preffered tour organisers website.

Make 2013 the year you discover the many wonders that Peru has to offer by joining us on a stunning trek through the Peruvian Andes, along a rarely used Inca path to the legendary lost city of the Incas; Machu Picchu.

Our route starts in the heart of the Urubamba Valley as we follow in the footsteps of the Incas, passing snow capped mountains and glacial peaks, through green valleys and past tranquil mountain lakes. It is a well kept secret and off the main tourist track, offering you the chance to interact with the small village communities we pass and giving you a real insight into traditional Peruvian life.

Our challenge takes us to a high point of 4,800m, the Ankascocha Pass, and we end our trek tracing the steps of the Incas to the lost city of Machu Picchu, Peru’s most famous Inca ruin.

You will have a day to explore in Cusco, capital of the Inca Empire and the oldest inhabited city in the world, and a chance to visit the fortress of Sacsuayhuaman before we start our journey to Machu Picchu.

You will be fully supported in the run-up to this challenge; you will receive a comprehensive training guide when you register, along with a kit list and lots of fundraising ideas. We will ensure that you are fully prepared for this experience of a lifetime.

To join us for this challenging and rewarding trek we require a non-refundable registration fee of £299 plus your commitment to raise a minimum of £3,500 in sponsorship. Approximately 50 percent of this will cover your tour costs including air and ground costs; the remainder will fund much-needed medical research into devastating and distressing conditions that affect babies and children.

Stop dreaming – join us for this adventure of a lifetime!
