An iconic cycling route not to be missed

We can now provide you with the final  instructions for The Independent London 2 Brighton Ride. The event manual can now be downloaded here.

Please read the manual thoroughly as it will answer questions you may have about riding the event, help maximize your enjoyment and enable you to avoid any problems on the ride.  Do  print any pages you feel are necessary to take with you, such as your route map for example.

Please take note of the emergency number to contact 'Rider HQ' on the day - 07541 291512. Only use this for real emergencies. You will also be given a card with this number to take on the ride.  Also take advantage of the services at the start to ensure that you are prepared for the ride.

We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday 11 September at Battersea Power Station in Kirtling Street.

Action Medical Research has teamed up with The Independent newspaper to bring you their very own London2Brighton ride.

The Independent logoThis iconic route is ideal for cyclists of all abilities and the perfect way to squeeze in a last cycling challenge before the autumn arrives.

The Independent London2Brighton ride is a limited entry event. There are a handful of places still remaining and registration will close on Wednesday 8th September. Entries on the day will not be permitted.

The start point for this ride will be in the shadow of one of London's most famous landmarks, Battersea Power Station. Please note that the finish line has changed and will now be at Hove Lawns, next to the King Alfred Leisure Centre.

Apart from a great cycling experience, your £25 entry fee includes:

  • independent vestfree serviced drinks stops
  • free lunch stop
  • bike mechanics throughout the route
  • NEG motorcycle marshals
  • full paramedic cover
  • commemorative medal
  • free goody bag worth over £20.

Our riders will be helping to stop suffering in children. Every tough mile ridden helps fund medical research to treat sick babies and tackle premature birth, to make life better for children with disabilities, and to target a group of rare diseases that together severely affect many forgotten children.
