In September 2022 cyclists from across the construction industry came together for the Ziggurat ride, covering over 300 miles in the UK and France, to help raise funds and awareness for children’s charity Action Medical Research.

Supported by lead sponsors Brett, Day Group, Finning UK & Ireland, Grafton and Maylim, Ziggurat is the cycling event of the year for those working in the construction Industry. The tour saw riders cycle from London to Reims on a fully supported four-day ride. Starting at Epsom Downs Racecourse and concluding in the heart of the Champagne region of France, the route explored beautiful countryside and historical architecture.

The cyclists represented a number companies including Brett, Finning exclusive dealer for Cat® equipment in the UK and Ireland, Grafton, KHL, Velocity and Willmott Dixon, amongst many others.

Sarah Stevenson, Head of Partnerships, Action Medical Research, says: “We are absolute thrilled that over £200k has been raised to help fund vital research to help change the lives of children affected by disease and disability. Everyone at Action is so grateful to all the riders who took part in Ziggurat, in particular our sponsors, Brett, Day Group, Finning UK & Ireland, Grafton and Maylim – without their contribution and support this ride would not be possible.”

Bill Brett, Chairman of Brett, says: “Action Medical Research are a small charity making a big difference. Their groundbreaking work helps children across the UK and the money raised from the Ziggurat ride enables this work to continue. We’re delighted to have been a part of this fantastic ride and can’t wait until next year.”
