Take a leap for Tiny Lives!

31 May 2007
Imagine sitting in a plane at 12,000ft, strapped to your skydive instructor. Suddenly the door flies open and you shuffle to the edge, you hear the roar of the engines and the wind ringing in your ears, below is the beautiful English countryside. Now imagine leaning out of the door and letting go, flying through the air at 120mph as you start your freefall. Before you know it the canopy opens and you are overwhelmed by peace and quiet as you glide slowly down to the ground. Now stop imagining, sign yourself up, and experience this for real! If you have ever wanted to do a skydive then here is your chance, and for the best of reasons. Action Medical Research is looking for hundreds of adventurous volunteers to raise vital funds for medical research by doing a sponsored jump. You can jump from any one of over 20 British Parachute Association approved airfields across the UK. No experience is necessary as all training is given. Action Medical Research played a crucial role in developing the polio vaccine in the UK, ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, hip replacement surgery and more. The charity’s current campaign - Touching Tiny Lives - is helping sick and vulnerable babies. Action Medical Research aims to raise £3 million for vital new research to help prevent premature birth, life-threatening pregnancy complications and other problems. The charity relies on voluntary support and fundraising makes such advances possible. So if you would like to raise funds for the UK’s most forward thinking charity and experience an awesome skydive, then give the charity a call on 0870 333 1662. Action Medical Research will send you a full information pack and everything you need to take part in the thrill of a lifetime.
