Touching Lives - April 2015
Our Partners in Action
Our dedicated and energetic corporate partners support Action in many different ways, from product promotions to team events to breathtaking individual challenges – raising many thousands of pounds to help our work saving and changing the lives of babies and children. Thank you one and all.
Smeg UK supported Action in style by providing a unique designer fridge as an auction prize at our annual Champions of CycleSport dinner, raising £2,600. The company also kindly arranged a product promotion, donating £20 to Action for every fridge sold in December and January, raising an amazing £7,540. A team of nine staff (pictured right) took part in the London to Paris bike ride in September; with Smeg matching the funds raised, the total will be around £30,000. Smeg UK Managing Director Mike Giddings, a keen cyclist, is joining 25 colleagues for a specially-organised 300 mile road challenge, riding from Venice to Milan in June. We look forward to adding some stunning pictures to the Action album.
Arun Estates Managing Director David Lench cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats, with Action receiving half of the extraordinary £75,000 raised. The estate agency business, which has 110 branches across the south east, has been supporting Action for five years, raising over £100,000 to help us make a real difference to the lives of sick and vulnerable babies and children.
Quai Administration Services sponsored the hugely successful Tony Hadley Golf Classic and Celebrity Dinner in September 2014, raising more than £25,000 and are supporting Action again this year. The event is so popular that it is fully booked months ahead. As we went to press, a team of Quai staff were preparing to take part in the May 2015 Rat Race Dirty Weekend at Burghley House – one of the UK’s toughest assault courses. We wish them good luck every wet, muddy step of the way!
