Fundraising Communications Officer
£28-30kpa, full time (35 hours a week).
Based at our Head office in Horsham, West Sussex
Action Medical Research is an ambitious charity aiming to grow and deliver still more medical research to help children. With 65 years of history and roots in the development of the first UK polio vaccines, the charity has contributed to some amazing medical breakthroughs, like developing ultrasound in pregnancy, the rubella vaccine and more recently cooling therapy for newborn babies.
Each year we fund around £3m of new research and are acknowledged as the gold standard in selecting the most promising research through our peer review process. We raise funds from various sources, including our own series of top bike rides and overnight endurance walks across the UK, a prestigious annual cycling fundraising event, volunteer-led events, individual giving activities and many more.
We are looking for an energetic and effective fundraising communications specialist with experience in developing engaging communications, to help promote key fundraising activities to new and existing audiences.
You will be working with the fundraising teams and helping to develop content and PR plans as well as writing compelling press releases to sell into the media. You will also write copy for the charity’s publications, website, and other e-communications (such as social media channels).
