Cyclists on a ride organised by Action Medical Research for Aon Benfield are on track to raise more than £60,000 for the children’s charity.

Paddington Bear's creator Michael Bond passes away

It is with great sadness that Action Medical Research marks the loss of Paddington Bear™ creator Michael Bond CBE. Michael Bond was involved with Action for over 40 years, following a meeting with our founder Duncan Guthrie in 1976, where it was agreed that Paddington would support the charity as its official mascot.

Through this very special relationship with Paddington Bear we have been able to attract thousands of new supporters who together have raised millions of pounds to help sick babies and children.

Horsham’s Marks and Spencer raises more than £5,500 for Action Medical Research


The Horsham branch of Marks and Spencer has proved it’s no ordinary fundraiser, having collected an amazing £5,576 for Action Medical Research.

The store chose Action as its local charity in March 2015 and renewed its original 12 month partnership for another year in 2016.

Reading riders prepare for Sussex cycling challenge

A group of Berkshire-based cyclists are preparing for a fundraising cycling challenge next month for Action Medical Research, the UK-wide children’s charity.

Abby Lacey, an Office Manager from Reading, is currently training for ‘Davina’s Big Sussex Bike Ride’, a family-friendly event hosted by one of the organisation’s celebrity supporters Davina McCall.

Cycling Club Celebrates Fundraising Milestone

Kevin Dunn, a married father of two from Bristol, has helped raise more than £40,000 for Action Medical Research after creating his own cycling club.

‘BS10’ was launced in 2015. 

The 38-year-old has always been interested in sport. He once enjoyed a trial at ‘Bristol City’ and has also laced up his rugby boots for ‘Bristol Saracens’.
